RISM UKC’s Chairman Sr Faisal Zaidin have been invited to represent RISM UKC in the 2012 Merdeka Carnival Organising Committee chaired by the Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia. This first Committee meeting was attended by Sr Wahizam Tewiran, as Sr Faisal Zaidin was on holiday in Malaysia.

London’s Merdeka Carnival is regarded as a major calendar event for Malaysians in the UK as well as Europe. Last year’s Merdeka Carnival was officiated by YAB Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and the year before it was officiated by Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di Pertuan Agung HRH the King of Malaysia who was accompanied by a few Cabinet Ministers.
